SEYMOUR, CT: Helen Pastir, age 89 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest July 25th at Shady Knoll Health Center with her devoted family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Pastir. Mrs. Pastir was born November 6, 1918 in Jessup, PA daughter of the late Paul and Helen Sotak. Helen was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd; she enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening but especially her family. She will be fondly remembered for the way she spent her life taking care of others. Helen leaves her loving family including six daughters, Eleanor Scott and her husband George of Beacon Falls, Dolores Dedo and her husband Joseph of Derby, Helena Cardamone and her husband Dominick of Naugatuck, Jean DePasqua and her husband Daniel of Naugatuck, Lorraine Reggio and her husband Steven of Chesapeake, VA, and Janet Austin and her husband Warren of Oxford, eleven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Her son Michael John Pastir, and brothers, Jack, Paul, Andrew, Joseph, and Albert Sotak, and sisters, Anne Nesevich and Mary Cherhoniak all predeceased her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Interment will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Ralph E.
