I enjoyed every encounter with Hiram over the years whether it was when I picked up chicken feed at the farm or found myself reaching for the same piece of pie that he was aiming for at a church or historical society dinner. His low key sense of humor always made me laugh. Behind those smiling eyes was such a smart, kind and humorous man. I am so sorry that he could not stay a bit longer.
