SEYMOUR, CT: James J. Perez age 77 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest September 17, 2008 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; he was the beloved husband of M. Lorraine (Ashe) Perez. Mr. Perez was born September 5, 1931 in Derby, son of the late Joseph J. and Anna (Dorso) Perez. He was a resident of Seymour since 1954, and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Parish, Ansonia. James was retired from the Driscoll Wire Co, Shelton, and was the former owner of Valley Lawnmower in Seymour. Mr. Perez was a longtime Reservist in the US Navy. He served on the Town of Seymour Inland – Wetland Commission and was also a longtime member of the NRA. James was a Black Belt in Judo and enjoyed playing softball, fishing, and hunting. In addition to his wife, James leaves his loving family including two sons, John Perez and his wife Nancy of Johnson, VT ,and Joseph Perez and his wife Carol of Seymour, two sisters, Margaret Bronchitis of Oxford, and Florence Perry of Derby, also three grandchildren, James J., Megan, and Daniel Perez, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 am in St. Anthony Church, 199 North Main St., Ansonia. Interment will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. Family and friends may call at the Ralph E.
