Obituary for James Stevens

SEYMOUR- Mr. James E. Stevens, Sr., age 76, beloved husband of the late Louise Waldorf Stevens, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in Middlesex Hospital, Middletown. He was born on October 28, 1931 in Derby to the late Raymond and Inez Abbott Stevens. Mr. Stevens was a foreman and truck driver for the Town of Seymour for 24 years before his retirement and a lifelong resident in Seymour. He was a firefighter and fifty year member of Citizen Engine Company. No. 2 since 1957. He enjoyed following the UConn Husky Basketball Teams, gardening and reading. Mr. Stevens is survived by a devoted son, James E. Stevens, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Seymour and two devoted daughters, Darcy S. Yuille and her husband James of Haddam Neck and Patricia S. Muggeo and her husband Thomas of Beacon Falls, six grandchildren, a sister, Marion Adams of Oxford and several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment to follow in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in James memory to Citizen Engine Co., No 2, 26 DeForest Street, Seymour, CT 06483.
