Obituary for Joan C. Atkinson
Waterbury: Joan C. (Kreidel) Atkinson, age 83 of Waterbury, entered peaceful rest on Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Bethany surrounded by family. Born in Bronx, NY on September 18, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Rudolph and Dorothy (Brown) Kreidel.
A retired key punch operator for Air Express International, Joan loved her cats, travelling to Maine, gaming on her IPad, all kinds of food, and Roger Whittaker. But above all else, she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her loving children, John Atkinson, III of Waterbury, Robin Diaz and her husband Jose of Bethany, and Tracy Atkinson of Waterbury; siblings, Lee Shlafer of Stratford, and Roy C. Kreidel of FL; 3 beloved grandchildren, David McWilliams and his wife Jessica, Brittany Nebelsky and her husband Robert, and Jasmine Atkinson; 2 cherished great grandchildren, Aubrey Sanchez and Mackenzie Nebelsky, as well as 2 nieces.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family and the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with her arrangements.
