Joan Marie Kirby, 93 of Derby, she entered peaceful rest on Nov. 26, 2023 at her home. She was born Nov. 8, 1930 in Derby, daughter of the late Edward and Mary (Savage) Kirby. Joan was a retired teacher and reading consultant at Turkey Hill Elementary School in Orange for 37 years. Joan leaves her loving nieces and nephews: Maureen Mosley. Marie Massari, Robert Mehaylo, Edward Mehaylo, Margaret Petersen, Kirby Jungers, and Jody Jungers; also several grand nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her 6 siblings, and nieces Kathleen Flament, Patricia Witzman, and Geri McCormack.

There are no calling hours. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM, directly at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd., Orange. Interment will follow at Mt.
