Obituary for John E Haines
SEYMOUR, CT: John E. Haines, age 77 of Seymour, beloved husband of Jane (Hill) Haines, entered peaceful rest on Friday, April 8, 2022 in Shady Knoll Healthcare, Seymour. Born in Bridgeport on September 17, 1944, he was a son of the late Walter and Maude (Arundell) Haines.
A US Army Veteran, John was retired bus driver and accomplished mechanic who drove of many things, including oxen. He could often be found competing in doodlebug, as well as tractor pulls. John was also a talented farmer and member of The Grange for 60 years.
In addition to his wife of 34 years, survivors include his nephews and niece, Douglas Haines, Ronald Haines, and Robert Lucas, and Atlanta Noel. He was predeceased by his siblings, Walter Haines and Maude Lucas, as well as his nephew, Charles Lucas.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5pm to 7pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 with a Celebration of his life continuing at 7pm in the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
