SEYMOUR – John Hanewicz Jr., age 69 of Seymour, beloved husband and father entered into peaceful rest on June 12, 2021 at his home in Seymour. Born in Bridgeport, CT on September 11, 1951, he was the son of late John and Helen (Cybul) Hanewicz Sr. A U.S. Navy veteran, John was a retired HVAC technician and a mentor to many in the field. He will be fondly remembered for his love of New York sports (Yankees, Islanders, Giants), music and his classic vinyl collection, history, and spending time with his family. He is remembered for his sense of humor, plethora of random facts, and blasting rock and roll music loud enough to wake the dead. He had a gift to make a fast friend with anyone he met, anywhere he went. John is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Kathy (Domanski) Hanewicz; son John Hanewicz III his wife Ali Kery-Hanewicz and grand-daughter Rose Hanewicz of Derby, daughter Kristyn Hanewicz of Seymour, and son Jeff Hanewicz and his wife Krystle Hanewicz of Seymour, as well as his extended family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 with full military honors taking place at 7pm. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
