Obituary for John Alan Kiehl

John Alan  Kiehl
SEYMOUR:Mr. John Alan Kiehl, age 82, beloved husband of 60 years to Elizabeth Prebilla of Seymour. He passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at his home surrounded by his family. John was born on May 8, 1926 in Derby to the late Charles and Carrie Busk Kiehl. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran during WWII and received The Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, WWII Victory Metal and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon. He was a plumber for many years and a member of the New Haven Union Local 777 and Cytec in Stamford and Wallingford before his retirement. In addition to his devoted wife, John is survived by three loving children, Alan Kiehl of Wolcott, Pauline Keeffe of Seymour and Karl Kiehl of Plano, TX and six grandchildren, Ronald Kiehl of Shelton, Adam Kiehl of Plano, TX, Jordan Kiehl of Plano, TX, Tom Keeffe, Jr. of Seymour, Paul Keeffe of Seymour and Daniel Keeffe of Seymour, and four great grandchildren, Meagan Keeffe of Seymour, Savannah Nido of Seymour, Brian Kiehl of Shelton and Devon Kiehl of Shelton. He is also survived by a brother, Roger Kiehl of Oxford. His sister, Rowena Miller predeceased him. Family and friends may call on Friday, February 20 (TODAY) from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February, 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Seymour Foursquare Gospel Church, 56 West Street, Seymour. Interment with military honors will be held in the spring in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour. In lieu of flowers, John’s wished to have memorial contributions be made to the Seymour Foursquare Gospel Church, P.O. Box 816, Seymour, CT 06483.
