Obituary for Joseph F. Gargano, Sr.

SEYMOUR: Joseph Frank Gargano, Sr., age 83 of Seymour, cherished husband of Patricia (Chagin) Gargano, went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2022, after a long illness. Born in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Mary (Peretta) Gargano.

Raised in Ansonia, and later Seymour, Joseph graduated Ansonia Pine High School and later served proudly in the US Coast Guard. He was a produce manager for many years at Stop and Shop in Derby and was a faithful member of St. Nicholas Parish in Seymour. Joe had a sweet tooth for dark chocolate and his favorite hobby was fishing. He was an avid fresh and salt water fisherman who loved the water and being on his boat. Above all else, Joseph loved being with family, especially during the Easter and Christmas holidays spending quality time and making lifelong memories.

In addition to his cherished wife of 58 years, survivors include his loving children, Joseph F. Gargano, Jr. of Seymour, Michael Gargano and his wife Kimberley of Seymour, and Mary Ann Carubia and her husband Dino of NC; beloved grandchildren, Krista Jurgens and her husband Matthew, Tyler Gargano, Melissa Blyth and her husband Chris, James Hink and his fiancé Katherine Janiszewski, and Daniel Hink; as well as his adored great granddaughters, Samantha and Adalynn Blyth. He was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Turschmann.

Relatives and friends can greet the family Friday, March 25, 2022 from 10am to 11:30am in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483, and funeral services with full military honors will follow in St. Nicholas Parish, Good Shepherd Church,135 Mountain Rd., Seymour, at 12pm. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
