SEYMOUR, CT: Joseph S. Nanista, age 83 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest May 11, 2012 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; he was the beloved husband of Irene (Heyeck) Nanista. Mr. Nanista was born August 5, 1928 in Newark, NJ, son of the late Joseph and Rosalie (Nodzak) Nanista. Joseph was retired from the IBM Corp. where he was employed for more than 30 years. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the tin Can Sailors having served on the USS Henderson. Mr. Nanista formerly resided in Danbury, he was a former Little League Coach, and was a NY Giants Football fan.

Besides his wife Joseph leaves his loving family including his son, Jeffrey Nanista and his wife Rosemary of Norwalk, his daughter, Kathy Ventresca and her husband Alfred of Sandy Hook, and six grandchildren, Kirstyn and Gemma Nanista, and Geno, Melena, Alicia, and Haley Ventresca. HIs son John predeceased him.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery.
