Obituary for Josie E. Donofrio (Matos)
Seymour: Josie E. (Matos) Donofrio, age 41 of Seymour, beloved wife of Philip C. Donofrio, Sr., entered peaceful rest on April 14, 2022 in her home surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on April 30, 1980, she was the daughter of Joe Matos of CT.
A dedicated nurse, Josie was a passionate caregiver who was always eager to help those in need. She put family above all else and enjoyed being a wife and a mother of her 5 adored children who she was deeply proud of. Josie was creative with an eye for detail that could always be counted on for event planning. She will also be remembered for her love of shopping and finding a good sale, decorating, gardening, baking, and her undeniable charm and wit. Josie was a fighter, a warrior, a hero. Her family’s very own Wonder Woman.
In addition to her father and beloved husband of 23 years, survivors include her 5 adored children, Bianca Donofrio-Estrella and her husband Anthony, Philip Donofrio, Jr., Sophia Donofrio, Olivia Donofrio and Isabella Donofrio, all of Seymour; her cherished grandson, Ezekiel Estrella; siblings, Anthony and his wife Rhea, Joy, Delvon, Joey, Justina, Jordan, Joel, and Siobhan, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and her Mother in Love, Carol Donofrio.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 5pm to 8pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. A Celebration of Josie’s life will take place on Thursday April 21, 2022 at 11am DIRECTLY in River Church, 14 Salem St. Naugatuck, CT 06770. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
