Life Story for Julia Ann Bosworth (Varsanik)

Julia Ann (Varsanik) Bosworth, age 87, of Seymour died on June 16, 2010 at Shady Knoll Health Care Center, surrounded by family and a most caring staff. She was the wife of the late Frederick Earle Bosworth. Julia was active in the Seymour United Methodist Church, spending years growing and arranging altar flowers. Her cooking and baking talents have yet to be matched.
Julia was born at her family home in Seymour on March 1, 1923 to Ann (Elasko) and Andrew Varsanek, and upon their early deaths was raised in Naugatuck by her sister, Betty Jankowski. For a time Julia was an inspector for aircraft fuel bladders for U.S. Rubber; during this time she met Earle, to whom she was married for 68 years. She is survived by four children, Frederick (Skip) Bosworth and his wife Diane, of Broken Arrow, OK; Donald Bosworth and his wife Robin of Jacksonville, FL; Pamela Griscom and her husband Fred of Broken Arrow, OK; and Ray Bosworth and his wife Lisa of Beacon Falls. Julie and Earle had ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; also a brother- and sister-in-law, Dr. William and Janet Hissey of Oxford. A great niece, Sandy Garahan, acted as ‘guardian angel’ at Shady Knoll for both Julie and Earle during their entire stay. Special thanks to Sandy’s church, Crossroads of Waterbury, for the timely prayer.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, Interment to follow in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Seymour United Methodist Church Restoration Fund. These funds will be used toward the stained glass window restoration.
