Life Story for Julia Frances Weller (Hummel)
OXFORD, CT: Julia F. Weller, age 93 of Oxford, entered into peaceful rest December 14, 2009 at Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour; she was the beloved wife of the late Frederick Weller, Sr. Mrs. Weller was the daughter of the late Henry and Maria (Heitzmann) Hummel; born in Seymour on July 6, 1916 and resided there until moving to Oxford in the 1960’s. She was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church, Seymour. Julia retired from the Uniroyal Corporation, Naugatuck where she worked in the Shoe Division for 34 years. Julia will be fondly remembered for the care she provided her family and especially her cooking and baking.
Mrs. Weller leaves her loving family including her son, Frederick Weller, Jr., Sharon McEvoy and her husband William all of Oxford, and Maria Weller-Mutter and her husband Spencer of Eutaville, SC, 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 7 great, great grandchildren, and two nieces, Gladys Aldred of Seymour, and Elizabeth Getty of Salem. Her siblings, Carl, Fritz, and Johann Hummel, and Amelia Day, Helen Radwick, and Elizabeth King predeceased her.
A funeral service in celebration of Julia’s life will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home also on Thursday prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church St., Seymour, CT 06483.
