Life Story for Kenneth A. Smith

Kenneth A.  Smith
SEYMOUR, CT…KENNETH A. SMITH, age 85, beloved husband of 56 years to Cecily (Wass) Smith, of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on June 10 at the Hilltop Health Center, Ansonia after a long battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and Dementia. He was born on December 27, 1923 in London, England only son of the late Clifford and Amy Caroline (Brixey) Smith. He lived most of his life in Bethany prior to moving to Seymour in 2004.
Kenneth was passionately fond of classical music and was interested in model railroads and he was a past member of the Valley-N-Trak club. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and on occasions his sharp wit. In World War II he served in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers as a mechanic and worked on several types of vehicles. Ken was also the Owner of KS Motor Works Co. in Bethany. Ken was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church and occasionally was a Lay Reader at services. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his dedicated wife, he leaves his son, Kevin A. Smith and his wife, Kathy (Gilman) Smith of Bethany and also a grandson, Kevin A. Smith, Jr. His family would like to give a sincere thank you to Dr. Kert Sabbath and his staff at the Harold Lever Center in Waterbury and the wonderful staff of the Companions and Homemakers and all Hilltop Staff members. A Service Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated on Wednesday evening, June 17 at 6:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church Street., Seymour. There are no calling hours. Internment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonicare Charity Foundation for Hospice Care, c/o the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, CT 06483.
