Obituary for Lawrence S. "Larry" Hutvagner

BEACON FALLS, CT: Lawrence S. “Larry” Hutvagner, age 66 of Beacon Falls, he entered into peaceful rest on December 7, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury; he was the beloved husband of 40 years to Donna (Ruddy) Hutvagner. Mr. Hutvagner was born February 11, 1954 in Norwalk, son of the late Stephen G. and Ruth (Tabaka) Hutvagner. Larry worked as Comptroller for the Town of Middlebury; he was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church; served on the Board of Education for Region 16, Member of the Beacon Falls Board of Finance and served on the Democratic Town Committee as well. He was a member of the Beacon Falls Lions and Leo’s Clubs, and Woodland Touchdown/Booster Club. Larry was an avid fan of the New York Giants, Yankees and UCONN Girls Basketball.

In addition to his wife, Larry leaves his loving family including, sons, Matthew L. Hutvagner (Elizabeth) of Farmington, and Timothy E. Hutvagner (Beth) of Newington; his daughter, Emily A. Hutvagner and her fiancé’ Zachary Davis of East Lyme; his brother, Robert Sweet of Broad Brook; sisters, Ann Walsh (Richard) of Beacon Falls and Stephanie Maltz (Richard) of Fairfield; his grandchildren, Liam, Colin, and Noah, and several nieces and nephews.

Drive thru memorial service Saturday, December 19, 2020; 2:45pm - Cars show up, 3pm - Ceremony begins, Kolga Parking Lot, 65 Lancaster Drive, Beacon Falls, CT. We ask that you stay in your car for the safety of everyone. We ask that you bring a candle and be able to light it in your car.
