Obituary for Leigh Rex Harper
Oxford – Leigh Rex Harper, age 80 of Oxford, beloved husband of Deborah (Matsis) Harper, entered peaceful rest on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Shady Knoll Health Care Center. Born in Bridgeport on October 15, 1940, he was the son of the late William Rex and Irene (Efford) Harper.
A retired inspector and OSHA expert, Leigh graduated from New Haven University and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. As a member of the Woodbury Rod and Gun Club, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially deer and quail, and also enjoyed snowmobiling.
In addition to his wife, Deborah, survivors include his son, Leigh David Harper of Oxford; sister, Linda Smith and her husband Del of FL, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Matthew Harper.
All services are private at the convenience of the family and the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
