SEYMOUR, CT: Lillian R. Niegelsky, age 86, of Seymour, passed into peaceful rest on May 24, 2013 at Griffin Hospital. A graduate of Ansonia High School, class of 1944, she owned Lillian’s Hair Salons in Seymour and Oxford and taught in various schools. She was instrumental in establishing the Cosmetology Dept. at the Emmet O’Brien Vocational School. Lillian enjoyed gardening, sewing and arts and crafts; she loved to paint and read as well. She loved to Square Dance with her husband. Lillian was arguably a fantastic cook. She will be fondly remembered for her creativity and her independence, but mostly for her love for her family.

Survivors include her devoted daughter Karen Spargo and husband Owen, and loving granddaughter Tai Spargo all of Oxford, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley J. Niegelsky, daughter Renee Niegelsky, and sister Alice Armstead.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Lillian's life will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Derby. Calling Hours are also Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
