Life Story for Louise Holmes (Anderson)

Louise  Holmes (Anderson)
BETHANY: Mrs. Louise Holmes, age 61, beloved wife of 39 years to Paul Holmes of Bethany, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2009 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Louise was born on July 3, 1947 in Derby to Evelyn (Sponheimer) Anderson of Bethany and the late Harold Anderson. She was an educator for 4 years in the Upper Darby School System in Philadelphia, PA and then for 34 years for the Cheshire School System. Louise was a member of the National Education Association, Connecticut Education Association, the Education Association of Cheshire, the National Reading Association and the Killington Ski Club. She also received the Pillar of Cheshire Schools Award.
In addition to her devoted husband, she leaves two loving children, Erik Holmes of Weymouth, MA and Amie Holmes of South Portland, ME, her brother, Gary Anderson of Bethany and her sister, Daleen Anderson of Bethany. Louise also leaves a nephew, Brett Cox, and two nieces, Louisa Milligan and Kirsten Cox. Family and friends may call on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Friends may also call from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow on Tuesday, March 31 at 1p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery in Killington, VT at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Louise’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or Yale Cancer Center, Office of Development, P.O. Box 7611, New Haven, CT 06519-0611, please be sure to note donations be made to the new Yale Cancer Center.
