OXFORD, CT: Margaret Shirley Rider, age 84 of Oxford entered into peaceful rest December 30, 2012 in Derby; she was the beloved wife of 62 years to Arthur C. Rider. Mrs. Rider was born May 8, 1928 in Derby, daughter of the late Dennis and Catherine (Narkin) Neville. Shirley was retired from the Kerite Co., Seymour, and was a communicant of ST. Thomas the Apostle Church. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Rita, a member of the Seymour Women's Club, and had volunteered at the Seymour Pumpkin Festival.

In addition to her husband Mrs. Rider leaves her loving family including her daughter, Barbara Gervase and her husband Robert in CA, a sister, Katherine Tynan of E. Haven, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her son Thomas predeceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church (Directly), 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford. Interment will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Calling Hours are Thursday in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W.
