Margaret Ann (Maximenko) Soda, age 90 of Seymour, beloved wife of the late Edward M. Soda, entered into peaceful rest on Monday, September 14, 2015 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Ansonia on December 18, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Belos) Maximenko. Margaret, also known by family and friends as “Maggie”, “Maxie” or "Marge”, loved writing poetry and was featured often in local newspapers. She loved gardening at her home with her husband and was an avid sketch artist who had an affinity for pencil sketching portraits of Hollywood actresses in their glory. Margaret loved helping others and frequently visited nursing homes and senior centers reading her poetry to friends. She cared lovingly for all of her sisters as they aged and was selfless as she cared for her family and friends. She also met many of her friends through her weekly travels to tag sales in the area. Margaret adored her husband, children, grandchildren and her entire family, and her unique personality will be sadly missed by all, but never forgotten.
Survivors include her two devoted sons, David L. Soda and his wife, Leslie of Oxford, and William G. Soda of Oxford, and four cherished grandchildren, Jonathan, Haley, Jason and James Soda;

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 11:15 to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
