Life Story for Martha Lena Sponheimer (Noyack)

LEXINGTON, MA: Mrs. Martha Lena (Noyack) Sponheimer, age 101, formerly of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009 in Lexington, MA. She was born on February 22, 1908 in Shenandoah, PA to the late Adam and Lena (Poudin) Noyack. Martha was a lifelong resident of Seymour before moving to Lexington, MA to live with her niece, Ardeith Reiter Froeberg and great nephew, F. Patrick Keough. She leaves a great legacy of love and compassion. She was known as “Aunt Mardy” by all who knew her and will always be remembered for her open loving heart. She was a member of the former Ladies Aide Society at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oxford. In addition to her devoted niece, Ardeith Reiter Froeberg, she leaves two nephews, Robert C. Child III of North Haven, Thomas Brooks of Fishkill, NY, a niece Virginia Flaherty of Orange and four great nieces and nephews, F. Patrick Keough of Lexington, MA, Robert Child of East Haven, Sara Stevens of Old Lyme and Emily Smith of York, PA and a loving extended family. Her eight brothers and sisters and two nieces, Joan Child and Dian C. Jacobs predeceased her. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11a.m. in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 25 Great Hill Road, Oxford. There will be no calling hours. Interment to follow in Trinity Cemetery, Seymour. Memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s memory to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 25 Great Hill Road, Oxford, CT 06478.
