Mary Rose (Beechum) Fatula, age 93, beloved wife of the late Wasil “Bill” Fatula, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Derby on March 23, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Archeny and Vera (Voytek) Beechum. A lifelong resident of Seymour, Mary worked as an office manager for CT Light and Power (Eversource) and was a longtime parishioner of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Oxford Senior Center, and was past president, treasurer and chaplain of the Oxford Davis S. Miles American Legion Post 174 Auxillary. Mary loved to knit and crochet, and would use her talents to make hundreds of blankets for veterans in the West Haven VA. Family and friends will also remember her enjoyment of crossword puzzles, gardening, and her famous potato salad, but most of all, for her love of family.
Survivors include her loving son, William Fatula and his wife Barbara of Clinton; three cherished grandchildren, Paul Fatula, David Fatula and his wife Ami, and Jennifer Yungk; two adored great grandchildren, Anna and AJ, as well as her godchild, Patti Finke, and nephew, Richard Witzmann. The family wishes to express their gratitude towards Sherry Chapel, for her long service in taking care of Mary.
