Mary A. Tichy, age 95 a resident of Oxford for fifty-two years, entered into peaceful rest on August 11, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph C. Tichy, to whom she was married for twenty-five years. Mary was born March 24, 1927 in Scranton, PA, daughter of the late Stanley and Esther (Grabowski) Laskowski. She retired from the C.R. Gibson Company of Beacon Falls where she was employed for twenty-five years. Mary was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. Mary was devout in always praying the Rosary. She was a member of the Oxford Senior Center, and she also loved baking and cooking.

Mary leaves her loving family including, her sons, Gerald Tichy of Oxford, Michael Tichy and his wife Joan of Oxford, Ronald Tichy of Meriden, and Kurt Tichy and his wife Sharon of Orange; her daughter, Mary Elizabeth McKay and her husband Duane of Westbrook; her grandchildren, Ronald Jr, Eric, Bryan, Jason, Alexandra, Shannon, Schyler, Kyle, and Megan; step grandsons, Matthew and Sean; and also her thirteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Chester and Stanley Laskowski, and her sisters, Josephine Falbo, Anna Labowski, Clara Harkins, and Loretta Ives.

There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church (DIRECTLY) 733 Oxford Road, Oxford. Interment will follow at Mount Saint Peter Cemetery, Derby. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts may be sent to Saint Thomas the Apostle Church. Her arrangements have been entrusted to the Ralph E.
