Michael J. ""Chuck"" Conroy
SEYMOUR, CT: Michael J. "Chuck" Conroy, age 86 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest September 13, 2008 at Birmingham Health Center, Derby with his devoted family by his side; he was the beloved husband of 65 years to Alice (Niezelski) Conroy. Mr. Conroy was born August 17, 1922 in Derby, son of the late Michael J., Sr. and Catherine (Brandon) Conroy. Michael was a retired Detective with the CT State Police, Hartford Barracks, and was a Life Member of the CT State Police Association. He was a WW II US Navy Veteran and a member of the David S. Miles Post 174 American Legion, Oxford. Chuck was a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd; he was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and he enjoyed bowling, golf, fishing and camping.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Conroy leaves his loving family including, two sisters, Corrine Conroy, and Margaret Duggan and her husband William all of Derby, several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews, and many cousins. His brothers William E. and John B. Conroy predeceased him.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour to the Church of the Good Shepherd where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Mountain Meadows Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be sent to Seymour Ambulance Fund, P.O.
