Obituary for Michele D. Poniatowski (Strich)
Michele D. (Strich) Poniatowski, age 59 of Beacon Falls, beloved wife of Richard Poniatowski, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. Michele was born in Bridgeport, CT on July 28, 1961, and grew up in Stratford, CT, attending Bunnell High School. Michele was predeceased by her parents, Carol (Gomien) Strich and John G. Strich, as well as by her sister Jennifer Noble of New York.
In addition to her husband Richard of 36 years, Michele is survived by her two sons, Michael Poniatowski of Beacon Falls and Benjamin Poniatowski along with his wife Roaa and their son Theodore, also of Beacon Falls. Michele also leaves behind her sister Debbie August of New Hampshire, as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Michele was outgoing and well loved by all who met her, especially the kids in her neighborhood, who she always welcomed and made them feel safe at their home. Many of the kids called her Mom and knew that her door was always open. She will be fondly remembered for her artistry, and especially for her fine needlework and crocheting. She had a great love of animals, especially dogs and turtles, but her greatest love was being a good Mom. She was a very hard worker who had a passion for landscaping. She owned and helped run a landscaping company with her son Benjamin.
Calling hours and funeral services will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021. Family and friends may greet the family and pay their respects from 9:30am to 10:45am at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour.
A graveside funeral service and interment will follow at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, 117 Mountain Rd., Seymour. Please respect and be observant of all COVID-19 guidelines throughout all services.
