Obituary for Nicholas Halko

Mr. Nicholas Halko, age 98, of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Barbara (Cicia) Halko, entered peaceful rest on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Shady Knoll Health Care, Seymour.

He was born on June 11, 1916 in Seymour and was the son of the late Fedor and Christina (Anasovich) Halko. Mr. Halko was a U. S. Army veteran and served in the European Theater during WWII. He was a machinist for AVCO Lycoming in Stratford. Mr. Halko was a member of the David S. Miles, Post 174 American Legion. He enjoyed telling a good story, horseracing and gaming.

Mr. Halko is survived by a son, Nicholas F. Halko and his wife, Teresa of Oxford, two step grandchildren, Gressa Quinn and Chelsea Nixon, and two great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Jayden. His sisters, Nadia Gido and Elizabeth Warcholik predeceased him.

Services will be private. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Shady Knoll Health Care, Recreation Department 43 Skokorat Street, Seymour, CT 06483.
