Obituary for Norlyn Wolter (Donofree)

SOUTHBURY and OXFORD, CT: Norlyn Wolter age 86, beloved wife of Ronald Wolter, was a longtime Oxford resident and recently became a Southbury resident. Mrs. Wolter entered into peaceful rest on September 2, 2023 at her home. Norlyn was born January 3, 1937 in Norwalk, daughter of the late Norman and Eleanor (Bennett) Donofree. She was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church, Seymour, where she formerly served on the Vestry, participated in the Prayer Shawl Ministry, and belonged to the Episcopal Church Women. Norlyn was devoted to her daily prayers, and touched many people with her online E-Card Ministry that she shared with family and friends. Norlyn enjoyed knitting, reading, baking, bird watching, flower gardening, and her doll collection. She will be fondly remembered by her family because every Sunday she would make her special spaghetti sauce; you could almost taste it the minute you walked in to the house and became caught up in the aroma.

In addition to her husband Ron, Norlyn also leaves her loving family including, her daughter, Sara Morgatto and her husband Gary of Southbury, her son, Ralph M. Festa, II and his wife Donna of Danbury, daughter, Elynor Makowski and her husband Gregg of Southbury, son Jon Festa and his wife, Jodi of Southbury, and Thomas Festa and his wife Christine of Naugatuck; a brother, Brian Donofree and his wife Donna of Bethel; her grandchildren, Justin Morgatto, Christin Peloso and her husband Gary, Ralph Festa and his wife Megan, Matthew Festa and his wife Kate, Jesse Festa Cardamone, Jon Festa, Jr., Zachary Thomas Festa, Alexander Jon Carroll, and Zachariah William Carroll; great grandchildren, Ava, Haley, Ryley, Mikalyn, Joshua, Dylan, and Parker Jade; also her husband's son David Wolter of New Milford. She was predeceased by her first husband Ralph M. Festa, her son Christopher Festa, and daughter, Norlyn Festa, a brother, Norman Donofree, a sister, Suzie Reed, and her husband's daughters, Roxanne Wolter and Dawn Wolter.

Calling hours will be Saturday September 9th from 10 to 11 AM in the Parish Hall of Trinity Episcopal Church, 91 Church Street, Seymour 06483. A Service of Requiem Eucharist will follow at the church at 11 AM. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oxford.
