Obituary for Paul Chaplick

SEYMOUR, CT: Paul Chaplick, age 96, a longtime Seymour resident, entered into the arms of Jesus on October 10, 2020 in Glastonbury CT with his loving family by his side.  He was the beloved husband of Genevieve (Anasovich) Chaplick.  Mr. Chaplick was born October 5, 1924 in Arnots Addition, St. Clair, PA, son of the late Peter and Alexandria (Parangosky) Chaplick.  He was retired from the Ansonia-based Farrel Corporation, where he worked as an Engineering Designer.  Paul was a communicant of Three Saints Orthodox Church, Ansonia; he and his wife Genevieve were members of the Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club, he also belonged to the Engineering Society of New Haven, and also the Farrel Old Timers Club.

Paul had a deep and abiding faith in God and he studied and taught home Bible studies for over 30 years. He dearly loved his family and was a source of wisdom and encouragement to his many friends over the years. He was an avid gardener right up to his final days. His other hobbies included walking, clamming, fishing and picking mushrooms.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Paul leaves his loving family including his daughter, Nina Saylor and her husband David of Glastonbury, his grandchildren, Jesse and Kathryn Saylor, Thomas and Tammi Saylor, and Katelyn and Lawrence Nkomo as well as five great grandchildren Vera, Claire, Oliver, Brian and Joy, a sister in law, Pauline Chaplick and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by His son, Paul T. Chaplick, brothers, Alexander and Peter Chaplick, and sisters, Stasia Fetchina, Mary Martin, Betty Gibson, Ann Chaplick, and Jean Williams.

Friends may call on Thursday from 10 to 11 AM at the Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Avenue, Ansonia.  His Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11 AM in the church.  Interment will be in Three Saints Cemetery, Derby.
