OXFORD - Ralph H. Richardson, III, age 83 of Oxford, beloved husband of 56 years to the late Ellen (Gatcomb) Richardson, entered into peaceful rest on Friday, December 29, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Born in Presque Isle, ME, on March 27, 1940, he was a son of the late Ralph H. and Rita (Ireland) Richardson, Jr.

Ralph was a member of the Local 478 Operating Engineers Union for 56 years. He was a true family man, and especially adored his wife Ellen. He loved the outdoors and traveling to their summer home in Maine. Ralph will be fondly missed for his clever advice, his love for his family, as well as his love of ice cream cake.

Survivors include his loving children, Rita Moody and her husband Dennis of ME, Warren Richardson and his wife Linda of Middlebury, and his son in law, John Kowal of Naugatuck; his brother John Richardson and his wife Jeanne of Virginia Beach, as well as many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to Ellen, Ralph was predeceased by his daughter Julie Richardson (Kowal), his sister, Frances Foss and her husband Reginald Foss.
