Obituary for Raymond R. Ruby

Raymond R. Ruby, age 94 of Seymour, beloved husband of Dolores (Madar) Ruby, entered peaceful rest on Friday, October 15, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family. Born in Waterbury on August 9, 1927, he was a son of late Ralph and Mae (Moore) Ruby.

A retired fabricator for Sikorsky, Ray was a very skilled worker who once owned an autobody business in Waterbury. Ray was a proud Marine veteran who served his country during WWII. He loved music and was a talented guitarist who shared his skills playing at many senior centers. Those who knew Ray will remember his love of puzzles, boxing, gymnastics, fishing, and his weekly trips to Fritz's.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, survivors include his children David Michaels and his wife, Vivian, of Southbury, Gary Michaels of Poland, Patricia Robitaille and her husband,Paul, of Las Vegas, NV, Lynn Ruby of Las Vegas, NV; sisters Frances Parker of Thomaston and Hazel Rasmussen of Plymouth; grandchildren, Christopher and Kelly Michaels of Seymour and Rachel Arnold of CO; 4 cherished great-grandchildren, Colin and Lillian Hildreth of Seymour. and Dylan and Max Arnold of CO, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert, and sisters Flora and Elsie.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 3pm to 6pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 with full military honors.
