Obituary for Reinhold "Ray" Wilhelm
Seymour, CT: Reinhold “Ray” Wilhelm, age 87 of Seymour, passed away on February 17, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Ria Wilhelm. Mr. Wilhelm was born on September 5,1935 in Fehlheim, Germany, to the late Heinrich and Rosa (Widhopf) Wilhelm and immigrated to the US in 1956.
He served in the U.S. Army, retired from General Electric in Bridgeport, and was also the owner of Colony Construction Co. in Seymour. Ray was a member of the Harugari German-American Club and the AMC German Social Club both of W. Haven, the German-American Club of Bristol, and the Schlaraffia German Society of Boston.
Reinhold will be fondly remembered as a devoted family man. All his life, he was a hard- worker with unlimited stamina, always willing to offer his help and advice to everyone.
In addition to his wife, Ray leaves behind a loving family including his daughter, Linda Wilhelm, and grandson Maximilian Wilhelm of Seymour, daughter Brigitte Daum (Michael) of Monroe Township, NJ, and grandsons, Julian and Alexander Daum. He was predeceased by his daughter Vera Budnik.
Calling hours are on Saturday, Feb. 25 th from 9 to 11 AM at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A funeral service in celebration of Ray’s life will immediately follow at the funeral home at 11 AM. Interment will follow at a later date. Donations in Ray’s memory may be made to the Harugari German-American Club in West Haven.
