Obituary for Richard Joseph Gori

Richard Joseph Gori, age 73, of Seymour, beloved husband of Carolyn (Cook) Gori, entered peaceful rest on Sunday, May 17, 2015 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Manhattan, NY on June 23, 1941, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Helen (Fisher) Gori. A dedicated family man and grandfather, Richard was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He was an avid NY Jets fan who also enjoyed the beach and cooking. In addition to his wife Carolyn, of 50 years, survivors include his daughters, Susan Gori D’Amato and her husband Stephen of Trumbull, and Karen Gori Huntoon and her husband Keith of Stamford; four cherished grandchildren, Stephen and Kate D’Amato, and David and Jack Huntoon, as well as his sister-in law, Barbara Palica and her husband Mike of Danbury, and his brother-in-law, Harry Cook and his wife Ann of MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:30 am from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 and at 11:00 am in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour. Relatives and friends may greet the family Tuesday morning from 9:30 am until the time of services. Interment will follow in Mountain Meadow Cemetery, Seymour. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Richard’s name to the Wounded Warriors project (http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org), or to Autism Speaks (https://www.autismspeaks.org).
