Obituary for Rick Sereque

OXFORD – It is with great sadness that the family of Richard “Rick” Becker Sereque, of Oxford, announce his sudden passing at the age of 72 on Friday, October 8, 2021 in Danbury Hospital. Born in Derby on January 26, 1949, he was a son of the late Arthur , Sr. and Anne (Kozik) Sereque.

Rick graduated Shelton High School and went on to obtain his Master’s Degree in computer science from the University of New Haven. He worked at Milford Hospital in the Data Processing Computer Dept. as Manager of IT before starting his own computer consulting company, working with various companies.

Rick loved 60’s music, especially the Beatles, along with traveling to new locations and taking pictures. Photography was his passion and enjoyed exhibiting his pictures in many photographic clubs and organizations, as well as giving presentations, publishing articles and receiving many awards. One of his favorite places to visit was Hawaii, the Big Island. Rick also loved spendin his free time with family and friends.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda (Isaksson) Sereque; siblings, Shirl Sereque, Joyce Tinsley and Art Sereque, Jr.; sister-in-law, Barbara Ann Johnson, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A visitation honoring Rick will take place on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 3pm to 6pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Oxford Animal Shelter, 486 Oxford Rd. Oxford, CT 064778, or to your local animal shelter.
