Obituary for Richard G. Urbanowicz Sr.
PROSPECT: Richard G. Urbanowicz, Sr., age 74 of Prospect, beloved husband of the late Louise (Anderson) Urbanowicz, entered peaceful rest on Saturday, April 15, 2023 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on April 14, 1949, he was a son of the late Vincent, Jr. and Anne (Potocky) Urbanowicz.
A retired contractor, Richard was a proud US Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing and hunting, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and was a very talented model boat builder. He was also very handy and could be found tinkering on automobiles.
Survivors include his children, Richard Urbanowicz, Jr. and Candice Urbanowicz; siblings, Vincent Urbanowicz and his wife Peggy, Judi Barrett, Cheryl Birdsall and her husband Ray, and Marianne Galt; brother-in-law, David Anderson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends can greet the family on Monday, May 1, 2023 from 9am to 10:30am in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in St. Vincent Ferrer Church, 1006 New Haven Rd. Naugatuck, CT 06770 .
