Life Story for Robert Dunbar Bryce

Robert Dunbar  Bryce
SEYMOUR, CT: Robert Dunbar Bryce, age 81 a longtime Seymour resident formerly of Suffield entered into peaceful rest October 3, 2009 in Huntington, NY; he was the beloved husband of the late Eva (Geleta) Bryce. Robert was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, having served in Italy. Mr. Bryce’s career was in lumber sales retiring from Oxford Paint and Hardware, Oxford, also he formerly was employed at Home Depot, Enfield, Housatonic Lumber, Derby, and Nutmeg Building Supply, Bridgeport. He was communicant of the First Congregational Church, Ansonia. In his youth Robert will be fondly remembered as an accomplished all-around athlete having Lettered in every sport at Ansonia High School (Class of 1946). Robert went on to play Semi-Professional Football.

Mr. Bryce leaves his loving family including his daughter, Linda Sheldon and her husband Donald of Greenlawn, NY, four sons, Robert Dunbar Bryce, Jr. of Meriden, Richard C. Bryce of Westerly, RI, Michael Bryce and his wife Kathleen of Storrs, and Thomas Bryce and his wife Sarah of Hampden, MA, a brother, Edward Bryce and his wife Lillian of West Swansea, NH, a sister, Maryann Gaetano and her husband Thomas of Derby, eight grandchildren, Jeffrey, Kevin, Eric, Jason, Alexander and Andrew Bryce, and Eva and Terrence Sheldon, his great grandson, Ethan Bryce and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. from the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour to the First Congregational Church, 44 South Cliff Street, Ansonia for a service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Memorial gifts may be sent to the First Congregational Church, Ansonia.
