Life Story for Robert Joseph Steinis

Robert Joseph Steinis, age 79, beloved husband of 25 years to Janice (Walker) Steinis of Bethany,
passed away suddenly at home on Nov. 28, 2014. He was the son of the late Albert F. and Claire (Podsiadlik) Steinis and was born on Jan. 15, 1935 in Waterbury and raised in Oxford. After his service in the Air Force, Mr. Steinis was an owner of a specialized computer software company for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, photography, but most of all, spending time with his family. Mr. Steinis was an accomplished gardener and furniture wood maker. He also took great joy in feeding all the
wildlife in his backyard. In addition to his devoted wife, he leaves his sons, Robert Craig Steinis of Milford and William Todd Steinis and his wife, Lisa of Naugatuck, his daughter, Kiselle Steinis of Vallejo, CA, his
sister, Florence Dorion and her husband, Edwin of Beacon Falls; three grandchildren, Tyler Dylan and Ashley Lynn Steinis of Naugatuck and Michelle Mason and her husband Joshua of Concord, CA, three great grandchildren, Kayla, Jasmine and Elijah. He also leaves His nieces and nephews, Joanne Sforza of Oakville, Darlene Steinis of Prospect, Al Steinis of Oakville , Louise Koerber, Wendy Oliveira and Christopher Dorion all of Beacon Falls, Jared Stagg of Wilton and several grand nieces and nephews. Mr. Steinis will be dearly missed by his loyal dogs, and daily companions, Pollie and Penny. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Albert Steinis and his wife Josephine Steinis. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Dec. 5 at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption, 81 Center Road, Woodbridge at 11:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Calling Hours will be on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
