Obituary for Robert E. "Bob" Walsh

SOUTHBURY, CT: Robert E. Walsh, age 72 died on June 6, 2018. Following a long battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), he entered into peaceful rest with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Cheryl (Bogucki) Walsh. Bob leaves his loving family, in addition to his wife Cheryl he leaves behind his children, daughter Jennifer Jedow and husband James of NH, Kristen Walsh of ME, Meredith Werner and husband John of OH, and son Robert F. Walsh and wife Melinda of Watertown; his sister Patricia Marconi; his brother in laws John Bogucki and Paul Bogucki; his grandchildren, Nathan (17), Emma (15), Kaiden (8), Jackson (7), Kyleigh (6), Kellan (3), Dylan (3); as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob, as he was known best, was born in New York City on July 5, 1945, son of the late Robert F. Walsh and Mary (McCann) Walsh. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a Marines veteran, a retired analyst from IBM of over 33 years, he loved to sing, was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford, CT for 30 years, and a member of the Valley Chordsmen Barbershop Choir in Waterbury for many years. Bob will be most remembered for his huge smile, his everlasting optimism for life and his love for his family. He will be missed by everyone that ever got a chance to know him. He spent every day giving back to others and was always the person you could count on. He was loved by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 11, 2018 starting at 9:30 a.m. in the Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 and at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Oxford. Interment with full Military Honors will be held privately at St. Raphael Church’s Cemetery in Poultney, VT. Family and friends can call on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the funeral home.
