SEYMOUR, CT: Ronald Amadeo Skurat passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. As a young man, he attended Fairfield University thanks to a Glee Club scholarship, ultimately performing as a tenor soloist at Carnegie Hall. Throughout his life, Ron was dedicated to community service and his contributions were many, including Volunteer Fireman at Ansonia Charter Hose, Cub Scout Master of Troop 11, President of the Seymour Land Trust, member of Housatonic River Coalition, Conservation Committee, Seymour Democratic Town Committee, Board of Selectmen, Zoning Board of Appeals, Registrar of Voters, and Valley Council of Governments. Ron is predeceased by his parents Beatrice Marazzi and Michael Skurat and his brothers Michael and John Skurat. He is survived by Mary Kane Skurat, his wife of 59 years, a daughter, Jennifer Ireland and her spouse Jon Ireland, two sons, Ronald M. and Christopher, as well as his two beloved grandsons, Samuel and Maxwell Ireland. He will be missed. Calling Hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7:30 PM at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour. A Memorial Service in celebration of Ronald’s life will immediately follow at 7:30. Interment will be private at Mountain Meadows Cemetery.
