Russell Budrow of Oxford died peacefully on June 22, 2022.
Russell was 93 years old. A long time resident of Oxford, Russell was born in Massachusetts, one of 4 children born to Harry and Molly Budrow. A bright and curious child, Russell graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his Masters in physics from the University of Bridgeport. A brilliant engineer, in later years Russell taught physics at the University of New Haven. He served his country in the US Navy, and Russell was very proud of his four years of service. He used his considerable analytical and engineering skills in a productive career --Russell worked for the United Illuminating Company, General Dynamics, and the Kerite Company in nearby Seymour, a manufacturer of medium and high voltage electrical power cable.
Russell was predeceased recently by his beloved wife Catherine. Cathy and Russ were an inseparable team. Russell was also predeceased by two brothers, Harry and Alan, and a sister, Betty. Russell leaves behind two sons, Bruce and David, both of Colorado, and their families. Russell also leaves behind a stepdaughter, Cheryl Sonick (John Hursh) of Fairfield and their families, and a stepson, David Ives (Lee) of Oxford and his family.
