Obituary for Russell "Butch" Cole
Oxford: Russell G. “Butch” Cole, Jr., age 72 of Oxford, beloved husband of Helena (Ballas) Cole, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 in Griffin Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on August 13, 1949, he was a son of the late Russell G. Sr. and Nancy (Cooke) Cole.
Butch was a dedicated employee of Santa Fuel, delivering oil for over 40 years to his community. He loved his job and made lasting friendships with many of his coworkers. Butch enjoyed a nice cup of coffee, but especially was a fan of old western movies, including Gunsmoke.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, survivors include his children, Russell G. Cole, III and Christina Cole, both of Oxford; siblings, Gary Cole, Nancy Maddern and Darcy Cole, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother James Cole.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 starting at 10 am in the funeral home and at 11am in Mt. Meadows Cemetery, Seymour.
