Obituary for Spencer B. Mutter

Spencer B.  Mutter
Mr. Spencer B. Mutter, age 65, beloved husband of the late Maria Weller-Mutter, of Southbury and formerly of Derby and Eutawville, SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Griffin Hospital, Derby.

He was born on November 13, 1947 in Richmond, West Virginia and was the son of the late Spencer and Dorothy (Crick) Mutter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans in Derby. Mr. Mutter was a truck driver for many years before his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, trips to the casino and loved watching western movies.

Mr. Mutter leaves seven step-children, Charlie Laskowski and his companion, Darla Staley of Naugatuck, Peter Laskowski and his companion, Colleen Burg of Eutawville, SC, Julianne Langerud and her husband Steven L. of Jacksonville, FL, James Laskowski and his wife Lea of Huntington Beach, CA, Nancy Chowanec and her husband, Robert of Seymour, Maria Laskowski of Ansonia and Mardel Stochmal and her husband, James of Oxford. He also leaves his six step grandchildren, Shannon, Rachel, Brandon, Nicole, Kathleen and Lucas, and seven step great grandchildren. Mr. Mutter also leaves six children, Naomi Ebbers, Begerman Ebbers, Kevin Mutter, Robin Delorea of CA, Christian Mutter of Wyoming and Spencer Mutter, III of Louisiana and two brothers Frank Mutter of TX, Arch Mutter of Indiana and three sisters, Wretha Farrar of PA, Ann Humphries of Alabama, and Sharon Arnette and their families.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 11 at 11:15 a.m. at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour, with Military Honors. There will be no calling hours.
