Obituary for Stanley Behuniak

SEYMOUR, CT: Stanley Behuniak, age 85 of Seymour entered into peaceful rest September 4, 2010 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; he was the beloved husband of 62 years to Helen (Geleta) Behuniak. Mr. Behuniak was born March 7, 1925 in Seymour, son of the late Anthony and Clara (Hodio) Behuniak; he was a lifelong Seymour resident. Stanley was retired from Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford. He was a WW II Army veteran serving in the European Theater of Operations with the 42nd Rainbow Division, 132nd Signal Company. Stanley enjoyed fishing, winemaking, and gardening.



In addition to his wife, Mr. Behuniak leaves his loving family including 2 daughters, Donna Sugg and her husband Kenneth of Naugatuck, and Shirley DeMatteo and her husband Michael of Seymour, 4 grandchildren, Steven Grassi, Michael, Brent and Alyssa DeMatteo, 4 great grandchildren, Crystal DeMatteo, and Ava and Lauren Grassi, and several nieces and nephews. His brothers, Joseph, Samuel, and John Behuniak, and sisters, Julia Persutti and Mary Kowalsky, and granddaughter-in-law, Erisa DeMatteo all predeceased him.



A Funeral Service in celebration of Stanley's life will be held Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia.
