Obituary for Stephen J. Kovzel
OXFORD: Stephen J. Kovzel, age 75 of Oxford, beloved husband of the late Penny (Politis) Kovzel, entered peaceful rest on Monday, April 25, 2022 in Waterbury Hospital. Born in Derby on May 10, 1946, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Supranovich) Kovzel.
Stephen was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking care of his yard. Those who knew him will remember his love for all types of sports, especially NASCAR.
Survivors include his children, Michelle Passander and her husband Jeffrey of Oxford and John Kovzel and his wife Nicole of GA; sister, Patricia Kovzel of Derby, as well as his 3 cherished grandchildren, Caden, Shelby and Colton. Mr. Kovzel was predeceased by his sister, Linda Traveres.
Relatives and friends can greet the family on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 4pm to 7pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Stephen’s name can be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839 (www.redcross.org).
