Obituary for Susan Taylor

BEACON FALLS, CT: Susan E. Taylor (Tucker), age 73, was taken from us suddenly on December 31, 2020.
Susan was born in Derby on August 30, 1947 to Edward and Doris Tucker and was a loyal and caring wife
to the late Donald C. Taylor for 41 years. Susan now leaves behind her cherished friend and fiancé, Jorge
Correia.
Susan had many loves. She loved strong winds and stronger ocean waves and watching thunder clouds
roll in. She loved old movies, music and dancing, and long drives home. Christmas trees and falling snow
and that certain magic in the air. She loved Cape May with its pink house and colorful Victorians and all
of our travels to beaches near and far. She loved uproarious laughter and pranks and good old-fashioned
scares. She loved us…her eight children.
We thank you, Mom. We thank you for your hard work and your exhaustion, your humor and the stories
we tell and retell. We thank you for every moment you made so very special for us, from our summers
by the sea to movie nights with ice cream in our living room. Thank you for gifting us with childhoods
that we try to recreate for our own children every day.
Rest now, Mom. You lived fully. You loved, you laughed, you gave and then you gave some more.
For as long as we live, we will call you Mother. Or Mom, Ma!, Grandma, Momma, or Gigi.
Rest now, we’ll take it from here, but our hearts will long for you all the while.
Our love always - Donald, Fawn, Jeffrey, Adam, Nathaniel, Amanda, Heidi and your baby, Suzanna
Susan is survived by her eight children and their respective spouses - Donald and Pauline Taylor, Fawn
Taylor, Jeffrey and Beth Taylor, Adam and Michelle Taylor, Nathaniel and Amy Taylor, Amanda and
Robert Moriarty, Heidi and Andy Crawford, Suzanna Taylor and Edin Basuljevic, 23 grandchildren and
her great-granddaughter, Belle. She is also survived by her sister Carolyn Rykowski and her brother John
Tucker as well as many nieces and nephews. Susan leaves behind many friends who loved her as they do
their own families.
