Life Story for Thelma L. Pope (Lovdal)

Thelma L.  Pope (Lovdal)
Thelma L. Pope, age 86 of Oxford, entered into peaceful rest July 5, 2009 at Waterbury Hospital; she was the beloved wife of Raymond Pope. Mrs. Pope was born February 10, 1923 in Southbury, CT, daughter of the late Thomas S. and Thora (Salvesen) Lovdal. Thelma was a retired Dietician having been employed at the State Capitol and also Waterbury Hospital. Thelma was a communicant of Christ Church, Quaker Farms where she formerly taught Sunday School. She was a member and Past President of the David S. Miles Post 174, American Legion Auxiliary, Oxford In addition to her husband, Thelma leaves her loving family including her son, Dr. Alan R. Pope and his wife Natalie of Moorstown, NJ, and her daughter, Irene P. Gentile and her husband Dr. Joseph Gentile of Avon, and five cherished grandchildren, Jennifer and Christopher Pope, and Lauren, Andrew, and Alexa Gentile. Her siblings, Sigurd, Oscar, and Julia Lovdal predeceased her. A Service of Requiem Eucharist in celebration of Thelma’s life will be held Thursday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ Church, 470 Quaker Farms Rd., Oxford. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour.
