Obituary for Tommy Gonsowski, Sr.
WATERBURY: Thomas “Tommy” E. Gonsowski, Sr., age 52 of Waterbury, beloved husband of Carrie Pekar, entered peaceful rest on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 in Autumn Lake Healthcare, Waterbury. Born in Danbury on August 15, 1970, he was a son of the late Eugene and Mary Ann (Hendrix) Gonsowski.
An avid sports fan, Tommy loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He enjoyed NASCAR and was a valued member of the #28 Race Team driven by Buddy Charette. But above all else, Tommy adored his family, especially his two beloved sons, Nicholas and Thomas, Jr. Together, he, Carrie, Nicholas and Thomas would travel to Pittsburgh as well as other areas to support their teams. Tommy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to Carrie, Nicholas and Thomas, survivors include his siblings, Tim Gonsowski and Theresa Gonsowski, both of Danbury; mother-in-law, Audrey Ardwin, as well as his dear friends, Buddy Charette, Martin Streb, Jay Streb and the rest of the #28 Team.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Tommy's life on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
