Obituary for Thomas Stephen Konecny

OXFORD: Thomas Stephen Konecny, age 74 of Oxford, beloved husband of Virginia “Ginger” (Gerak) Konecny, entered peaceful rest on Saturday, August 7, 2021 in Griffin Hospital with family by his side. Born in Bridgeport on December 29, 1946, he was a son of the late John and Anna (Lukac) Konecny. A very talented wood worker, Thomas made all his home furniture and worked for many years teaching his skills in the Bridgeport school system. He loved gardening and taking care of his lawn, and was one of the few people who actually enjoyed mowing and pulling weeds. Thomas also loved golf, but above all else, his pride and joy was his daughters and grandchildren.
 
In addition to his wife of 52 years, survivors include his daughters, Diana Konecny (David Doran) of Beacon Falls, and Liza Beyer (Daniel) of Prospect; brother, John Konecny (Patricia) of Shelton; grandchildren, Emily and Jacob, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Raymond Konecny and Frances Tschanz.
 
A Memorial Service celebrating Thomas’s life will take place on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11am DIRECTLY in the Church of the Good Shepherd (St. Nicholas Parish) 135 Mountain Rd. Seymour, CT 06483. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour CT 06483 has been entrusted with his arrangements.
