Obituary for William Albert Balser

SEYMOUR, CT: William Albert Balser, age 92 a lifetime resident of Seymour entered into peaceful rest October 24, 2008 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby; he was the beloved husband of the late Jean (Giannone) Balser. Mr. Balser was born October 7, 1916 in Seymour, son of the late John and Elsie (Pogalis) Balser. William was retired from the Kerite Company, Seymour where he worked for many years as a Boiler Operator. He was a WW II US Air Force Veteran from 1942 to 1945, having served with the 870 Chemical Company in Saipan; he also formerly served with the Coast Guard from 1935 to 1938. Mr. Balser was a member of the Seymour United Methodist Church. He will be remember as a simple, giving man who had a great passion for gardening and sharing his harvest with others; he enjoyed woodworking, Classical Music, and tag sales.
William leaves his loving family including his three daughters, Linda Kozak of Wolcott, Cynthia Zukas and her husband Ziggy of Seymour, and Anita Studley of Sanford, NC, four cherished granddaughters, Robin and Kerri Kozak, and Jamie and Jill Studley, also his former son-in-law Frank Studley of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews. His sisters, Elizabeth Balser and Hilda Fowler, and brothers, John, Julius, Matthew, and Michael predeceased him.
Funeral services in celebration of William’s life will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church Street, Seymour. Interment with full Military Honors will be in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
