Obituary for William "Bill" Sullivan

OXFORD – William “Bill” Sullivan, age 87 of Oxford, beloved Husband of Mary Mazens-Sullivan, entered peaceful rest on Saturday, October 26, 2019 with family by his side in River Glen Health Care, Southbury. Born in Springfield, MA on July 31, 1932, he was a son of the late Timothy and Cecelia (Shea) Sullivan. Bill was a purchasing agent for General Offset Printing in Springfield for many years. Upon moving to Connecticut, he worked at Danbury Printing and Litho. Bill was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford where he served as Eucharistic Minister for many years. He loved history, especially pre WWI Germany and was an avid collector of Munich brewery steins. Bill enjoyed visiting his German “pen pal” numerous times and also traveling with his wife to destinations far and near. The U.S. National Parks were a favorite destination since they fulfilled Bill’s love of geology. In addition to his wife of 31 years, he is survived by his brother George Sullivan of New York City, and his nephew Timothy Sullivan and his wife Frances of Wash. DC. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 11 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Rd., Oxford. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. The Ralph Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St. Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with his arrangements. The family would like to thank the staff of River Glen Health Care and VITAS Hospice for their care and support.
